Cemetery Club Director’s Note

Jack Randall Earles – talking as usual

It was wonderful news for me when PCPH decided to put The Cemetery Club on its 2025 schedule. I worked as stage manager on the Phoenix Theatre production of the show in 1991 (directed by Suzanne Fleenor). It was a delight from first rehearsal until closing night. Audiences found the play hilarious, touching, memorable.

PCPH produced it in 1993 (directed by Sandi Robles) and I was the light board operator. The audience reaction in the barn was even more enthusiastic.

I think the play has held a special place in my memory because of the wonderful actors in both productions. And I am hoping that I am lucky enough to get others just as wonderful at the auditions for this production. I have every confidence that you will be there. The auditions are May 11 and May 12.

A character list and other information can be found on the other pages under the DROP DOWN menu where you found the link for this page.

I am specifically looking for performers of the specific ages and with some stage experience.

Most recently at PCPH I have directed Morning’s At Seven, Flowers For Algernon, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Most recently I have appeared here onstage in The Pink Panther Strikes Again and The Play That Goes Wrong.

Thanks! I hope to see you at the auditions. Come and be a part of The Club!
