Due to restrictions and difficulties caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic, the PCPH board of directors has announced that the entire 2020 Mainstage slate of musicals and plays has been cancelled.
All previously announced productions are included. It was hoped that postponing two shows until the late summer would be possible. The continuing difficulties and statistics have proven that to be too optimistic.
Health concerns for our participants and audiences were determining factors in this decision.
Our YTW SHAKESPEARED! and Children’s Theatre workshops will be held virtually and/or under strict conditions as mandated by state regulations.
The YTW production will be presented outdoors at Robe-Ann Park.
The board would like to thank everyone for their continued support. Please keep checking our website and Facebook pages for updates on our activities and information about the upcoming 2021 season during which we will celebrate our 60thanniversary.
Keep watching the website and our Facebook pages for some video surprises that may show up now and then!
The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Putnam County Playhouse is meeting regularly to discuss options for the 2020 season of activities.
We are reviewing Governor Holcomb’s re-opening plan. We are also closely following the Federal Government guidelines that are released each day.
Our first responsibility is to our participants and patrons.
We have tentatively rescheduled our Youth Theatre Workshop to run from July 6-17. Information about this workshop can be found on its Facebook Page. The Children’s Workshop remains as scheduled, for now.
Any further notices and updates concerning our activities will be posted on our website and Facebook pages. We understand that the current situation changes daily. We appreciate your patience and support as we continue to navigate this unprecedented health crisis.
Putnam County Playhouse officers and board members are watching the news of current events closely. At the most recent meeting of the Executive Board, many things were discussed. The health and safety of our participants and audience members are uppermost in the decisions we are making.
At the current time, we plan to conduct the Youth Theatre Workshop in June and the Children’s Theatre Workshop as planned. We are taking the advice of our State and Federal Officials in mind and will let everyone know if this changes.
We have also decided to tentatively schedule a 2020 season consisting of two productions:
You Can’t Take It With You to be produced in August with June audition dates to be announced.
The season will end with Anything Goes in September with July audition dates to be announced.
We will be in contact with our Season Ticket holders in May about how we will handle their requests.
Thank you to everyone for their interest and their patience. Stay safe and healthy and we hope to see you at the Barn!
The Putnam County Playhouse (PCPH) Executive Board of Directors has been closely following updates from Governor Eric Holcomb, the Indiana State Department of Health, the CDC, and the Federal government regarding the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Indiana. We continue to monitor the situation and are meeting regularly.
We face this uncertainty as an organization with the same caution that we all do as individuals. Our paramount concern will always be the safety of our patrons and volunteer participants.
Although the ‘Barn’ is still closed for the winter and our season has not yet begun, we find that we must adjust our 2020 season in response to the pandemic crisis.
With that said, season ticket brochures will not be mailed this spring as our season must change.
There will be no June show.Due to current restrictions, there will not be ample time for auditions and rehearsals to be held.
Our tentative schedule for 2020 is as follows:Anything Goes will be presented in July, You Can’t Take It With You will be the August show, and Once Upon a Mattress will close the season in September.
Youth and Children’s Workshops remain as scheduled for June and July at this time but are subject to change.
Final decisions regarding the season and ticket sales will be forthcoming.
Only with your support can PCPH continue to provide the residents of our community the opportunity to participate in and enjoy live theater. We look forward to seeing you at the Barn!

We face this season of uncertainty as an organization with the same caution that we all do as individuals. Our paramount concern will always be the safety of our patrons and participants.
Our plan at this time is to mail out your season ticket brochures in late March. We want to encourage all past season ticket holders to move forward with ticket purchases for the 2020 season when your brochure arrives in the mail. This will provide you with the opportunity to secure your seats.Waiting until a later date to order may result in the loss of preferred seating.
Currently we don’t plan any changes to our season’s activities, but we will of course follow the best course of action as circumstances dictate.
