My Fair Lady Director’s Note

Kathi Elliot, Director (PCPH Board Member)

I am thrilled to be entrusted with the task of bringing My Fair Lady back to the Playhouse stage after a thirty-year absence. This celebrated musical—beloved for its unforgettable melodies and compelling story—invites audiences to experience the journey of Eliza Doolittle as she transforms from humble flower seller to a poised and independent woman under the tutelage of Professor Henry Higgins.

Forty-two years ago, I directed just one scene from this show at a small high school in Appalachian Ohio.  As I, too, have grown to become a “poised and independent woman”, I have also realized that Professor Higgins is also transformed by the close of the show—Oh, perhaps not as obviously so, but transformed nonetheless.

Our production promises a fresh take, blending the timeless charm of Lerner and Loewe’s masterpiece with the energy and creativity of our production team. Audiences will surely witness the outstanding performances you have come to expect at the Playhouse.  You will not be disappointed!
